Care Team Ministry

About the Care Team Ministry

Christ calls us to love one another and through the Care Ministry at St. Paul's Reformed Church we are sharing the Love of Jesus with the members of our congregation and beyond.

The Care Ministry extends Christian caring, concern, and support to members and friends of our congregation through various smaller groups in the ministry. These groups consist of: visitation, cards, meals and acts of service.

The Care Ministry has 9 people serving on the committee. Although there is a Committee accomplishing the goals of this ministry, everyone in this congregation can be involved in sharing the Love of Jesus through this ministry. Please look below and check the ways that you would like to help the Care Team Ministry to reach as many people as possible. Together we can serve others.

Our Mission: To spread love and encouragement to the church and beyond through visitation, meals, cards, and acts of service.

What We Do

Meals Team

The meals team is an excellent way for many to serve others. When Jesus met with others there was almost always food involved — including the First Miracle and the Last Supper. So through this ministry we will share the love of Jesus and make a difference in someone's life. The goal is to simply bring joy and encouragement to someone by providing a meal. Whether it is a time of joy like the birth of a child, or a difficult time in someone's life, a friendly face at your door with a meal is a real blessing.

Through the leaders of the meals team you will receive information and helpful guidelines for you to follow to make this not only a blessing to those receiving the meal, but also to those preparing the meal.

Card Team

The Card Ministry sends cards from St. Paul's Church to remind our brothers and sisters that they are being thought of during difficult and joyous times.

We all know that receiving a handwritten card in the mail is the perfect way to brighten your day. To let someone know that they are being thought of by sending words of faith, friendship, and encouragement can make a huge difference in someone's day.

Visitation Team

The Visitation Team visits and builds relationships with members of the congregation who may be lonely or going through a difficult time. The goal for the visit is to bring joy to the person(s) by spending time with them in conversation and prayer.

The Visitation Team will also plan small gatherings for the people being visited such as luncheons, a games afternoon, movie matinee etc. These gatherings and the visits are to give these people something to look forward to and to gather together for times of fellowship.

Acts of Service Team

The Care Team is a ministry of action and it offers the congregation an opportunity to use their spiritual gifts to serve others in a time of need. For that purpose the Acts of Service Team will provide help during emergency situations for widows, widowers, shut-ins, those with an illness/physical need and emergency situations. Some of these needs could be water in the basement, leaky roof, etc.
